Tackling the monster...tomorrow

Today and tomorrow I have days off (as well as the weekend). It's very nice considering the weather is great, all sunny and warm.

So today I went shopping a bit at Asda with Milla, my laundry heap is getting somewhat large. So today I got myself some washing powder and stuff. But I'm not tackling that machine thing until tomorrow...although the clothing is dark colored I hope it all don't turn pitch black because of the new towel. I'm not spending £1.60 just to wash the towel alone.... although that might be a good idea. I'll tackle my white and colored stuff later. Mainly because all my colored stuff has different/wildly crazy colors on them, like the orange towel. "Wash with similar colors". The only thing with a similar color to that towel is my suitcase, which I doubt would be a good idea to stuff in a washing machine.

I kinda also have to start the sketchbook project. The one where you have to draw a toy in different angles and settings. Think I'll have to do that while the washing machine is on tomorrow.

School: First days

First day of school:
Introduction day.
We had to play the same "speed dating" game thing that we did the night we met the mentors. Except that we had to introduce the person we had talked to last.
Basically nothing really happened.

Second day of school:
Today our teachers had us sit down and draw each other. I wriggled in pain on my chair, not because I don't like Chris, the guy with the awesome hair that I drew,
but because of the fact I had been doing that to Milla when I was bored at the hotel and I had failed miserably. Which had made me determined not to try it again for a little while. I really only do realistic when I feel like it. It takes longer than everything else. Also everyone was drawing each other, in other words, no one was sitting still. That's a pain in the ass since the angle constantly changes....

Sadly I can't show this off to anyone demanding to see it *cough*Ai*cough* because my teacher ran off with all the drawings. "We will keep them so you can compare it later."
Then we were supposed to do this little morph animation. From a circle into something else, then back. Mine turns into a creepy black blob. That is, once I get around to take the pictures with that camera that makes the animation thing. Think I'll do it tomorrow.

In the lunch break I ran around with Gracie and an Irish guy who's name I can't remember at the moment because it doesn't start with a C, or is like 3 letters long...
I can seriously only remember boy's names these days if it starts with a C. It's just weird really.... Anyways, we were running around getting something yummy to eat, I had French fries -except that the British ones are like half a potato big and called chips apparently >___>
very confusing considering chips in my country is like the American word for it, the ones that comes in a bag. Like Sørlandschips. ;O; Gawd I miss those.

Back in the classroom I sat down to doodle, only to be thrown out on a "treasure hunt" together with two guys; Ben and the other one I forgot the name of. Andy, our course leader, had made it some space theme, like; "You need to find these passwords to get the intergalactic space money from that place over there" and "The captain forgot to tell the person at home which color of the cat he was going to feed. Which color is the campus cat?" and he kept calling our campus "Tremough space station" or something. It felt more like a confusing hiking trip than a space adventure that had the purpose of teaching us where to find the different areas at school. I did learn a little where things are, but I'm still semi-lost...
Might be because there is a lot of fog outside.
Like almost a creepy amount.

Third day:
Went out taking some pictures in the fog yesterday, but I was disappointed that the little apple garden was closed when I got there. Because that would have been a seriously epic location. Old creepy small trees, rotten apples on the ground, a forgotten pond and an almost sinister looking road twisting along the side with trees closing in on it... It seems like they are keeping that apple garden closed, and during the treasure hunt with the two people from my class we just stumbled in there by accident. So basically I have been running around with my camera for the past two days, so there should be a pretty good amount of pictures filling up my September folder. The only funny thing is that me being me, I don't think there are very much pictures of the buildings around here, but everything else.

Today we pretty much just came to learn how to get into our learning space page and get some homework. Read a paper, hand in the circle animation we started, and a sketchbook project - taking a toy and sketching it's adventure. I'm not sure if we were allowed to make the toy seem alive, or if we were supposed to be realistic about it. I think I'll end up doing both just so that I have at least tried and ONE of those things will be correct.
Also.
I need to get a hawaii shirt. :3

"No Postage"

"But please, please, I beg you..."
She tugged at his scarf once again, still refusing to let go.
"It is for home. Please..."

He turned his head to look down at her as he kept on walking.
"I already told you. There is no postage on that letter. I cannot deliver it without a stamp."
His voice was firm as before, but on the inside he felt like a monster for refusing the letter of a little girl whom he knew would never have the money to get the stamp for her letter home....

Was supposed to be just a little doodle, but I ended up doing a full tone drawing. Which was not the point either, I was going to do the same coloring style as
Hiroyuki Asada uses for the covers of the manga, but suddenly I felt like having it in the black and white manga style instead....which it obviously isn't either, he's using near to no toning on his characters, it's almost all black and white. Why do I always fail on purpose?

4 days in Falmouth

Everybody complains that the internet here is slow.
Like my roommate the other day trying to read a manga.
It didn't like more than two tabs open and loaded sloooowly.
I just reckon that's because everyone is online at the same time.
And guess what...
I am right.

Sitting here all alone on a Saturday night while everybody else is out drinking gives me pretty much the same speed on the internet as I have at home.
In other words; 5+ tabs open and can speed read through any manga 8D
I have internet all to myself.

So now that I do have the big open fields of internet to myself I might as well update this thing properly....

Wednsday:
Moved out of the hotel and into the building at campus. Had one of the poor souls lift my then twice as heavy suitcase (nearly 40 kg) up all the stairs. But that's what they get for putting me on the top floor.
Then I went with Milla to go buy stuff, because apparently pots and pans are not provided, nor are duvets or pillows. Also we needed a bit of food and an adapter because the one we brought from home was no good. Probably because it was from a Swedish store. But of some funny reason the English adapter that says "for shavers only" in white writing so that you can hardly see it, works for Milla. Maybe because she's plugging small things like her mp3 in it, and don't do like me, trying to plug in the pc.

Thursday:
Ran around getting to know the other campus, Woodlane, and got to meet the ones that are going to be our teachers. I thought mine was rather nice. Also they gave us free food. I like free food.

Went back to the flat where Milla and the two others, Stine and Jenny had gotten two new flatmates that were boys. So I spent my time in their kitchen talking with them and they were really nice.

Friday:
The international students went on a trip to a big, big garden called the eden project. They had two special areas, the Rain forest and the Mediterranean. The rain forest was very pretty, like a real rain forest full of green tall trees, but freakishly humid and full of ants on all the plants. The Mediterranean was warm, but without the humidity, like walking around in a summer holiday. It was lots of cactus there. Jenny, one of the girls downstairs bought one, named him Rex and put him in the kitchen window. A girl at the first floor bought one too. He's named Harvy. I don't know if Milla ever named her parsley....

When I came back home I discovered that a single soul had moved in on my floor. My room mate. She did warn me, but I don't think I have ever met a person that talks as much as her.

Saturday:
Today we went to a little town called St Ives. It was lightly raining most of the time we were there, so we mostly spent our time slightly sulking about getting wet, and me for being hungry. I had gotten up a little late, leaving me with the only option of skipping breakfast.
In the end me and Milla ended up on a cafe eating a large sandwitch before heading back into the light rain, running into every little store with all the little things because we had nothing else to do. We found a trail that went along the shore, which we walked and ended up next to the beach where we were supposed to meet. It got very boring at the end since we got to the place we were meeting up and waited half an hour extra.

I came back and noticed that more people had arrived, both down in the flat under and in this one. I wasn't upstairs for long today. Although one of the guys seemed sort of ok-ish, the other one scared me. I don't know why. I ran off to downstairs where they were SUPPOSED to eat a big dinner, but they never did. Instead I ended up doodling my newest favorite "victim" Charlie, the funny guy. Then everybody decided to go out and drink. So I just dragged my butt back upstairs where my roomie was basically leaving five minutes later to join some other people from the flat to go out drinking.

So summing things up:
The only problems I have so far is not wanting to go near the kitchen because it needs to be washed and I'm not touching that fridge, all the friends I made is on the floor under me which I don't have access to, I can't treat the room I live in as mine because it's someone else here which makes the room feel alien and weird.
Everyone here seems to drink, their adapters all say "shavers only" and they love wall to wall carpets which I hate. And no one can explain either of those last three things.
Especially those carpets.

Falmouth arrival

The journay from Norway to England went really well. The only thing that went wrong was one of the trains leaving the station before it was supposed to. But it wasn't all that bad, I got to blabber an extra hour with Ash :D

Falmouth:
It feels like England meets Bergen and Costa del sunshine
It's by the sea, it's little rain showers all the time and blows a lot. Just like home.
It's palm trees and the temprature is rather nice. Just like some Costa del sol place.
Everyone speaks English and drives at the wrong side of the road. Just like England.
I'm glad I brought my hat, scarf and umbrealla.

So far I like it here. They have at least 3-4 candy shops and a bunch of shops that have a little bit of everything.
Although I find the fish and chips portions a bit too big. I ate it around 1:30 pm and I'm still full now at 5:30....

Tomorrow the derping around will probably end and I'll have to stop playing tourist. ;O;

Ai: Yeah I know! This is the bes-wait,what? SEAWEED?!!? MIKU! DON'T SERVE THAT! THE SUSHI HAS SEAWEED ON IT! SEAWEED IS EVIL!! PEOPLE ARE GOING TO PUKE!!
Mog: *has his shirt tugged* hmm? wha-OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT?
Fu: I think I burned the rice...
Mog: WTF? What did you do to it?! That stuff is crawling out of the pan!

I vote for a sushi night one day...
As long as you guys don't let me cook the rice.
I really do suck at that.

Raptus 2011 part 2

Sunday...was quiet.
First I missed one bus, then I figured that the bus I was aiming for was later than I thought. All after I stressed out the door skipping breakfast...lucky for me Sempai had made chocolate buns.
I spent that day walking about a bit, well, a lot. Went downstairs watching Nana drawin
g some more, sitting patiently in line to get a drawing. Unfortunately she must have gotten used to me,
because she forgot me. Me and Ai figured I had turned into furniture. We figured out I was a Futon. (see? "FU-ton" 8D )
But in the end I did get my sketch from her, and I'm drooling all over it. Ai and Kerri got their boys too. NOM NOM.
No drawing from Mike this year ;O; I had no monies left after paying for two (owing Ai monies).

Got around to talk with the two cosplayers again, Miku was still Miku, but the genesis cosplayer was...I don't know if he was cosplaying or just dressed awesomely fancy.
Black and white semi-victorian awesomeness. I so want that outfit. Fffhhh~ Dude, why you look so good?

@___@
On another note; Leaving Norway soon.
Going to England to stay is weird. I don't think my mind has come around to that yet.
And my room still looks like a vicim of a tornado. Ugh.
I think I have learned that I should file my papers. Because this is hell to go through. I still have some paper left but I don't have time (or enough plastic folders) to sort them until another time.
Have to sort through everything ELSE first.
Yeah.
I suck at time management.
So tomorrow is up early so that I can continue getting rid of stuff.
*sigh*

Raptus 2011 part 1

The fun time of year is over now, Raptus have passed and it was awesome. I ran around a lot more this year and found it more relaxing with less things to do for me. Yay. The first day was spent setting up the table and mainly sitting at it, save for running about trying to find Nana Li and Mike Collins who I couldn't find for my dear life. Nana because I had no idea what she looked like, and Mike because he didn't have a beard anymore so I didn't recognize him. Also there were like 3 people named "Mike" at Raptus this year.

The Saturday I spent being painted in my face by Sempai, was going to be a silly lol face, but ended up with some pattern instead, running a bit around with Ai-pie drooling at the Miku (Vocaloid) and Genesis (Final Fantasy) cosplayers whom we eventually dared to talk with later in the day xD Gawd we're such wussies when it comes to talk to new people. Especially if we think they're awesome xD We ended up figuring out we already sort of knew the Miku from deviantArt. -derp- this world is not as big as it seems.

Then I went to the china restaurant with Ai and Milla for dinner. That was really yummy. Too bad no one had space for desserts in their bellies ;O; love the fried bananas... Then we went back, I finally figured which Mike I was looking for, but then I found Nana. I ended up standing at her table instead drooling at the sketches she did for people. Was going to ask for one but the poor girl had been running from talk to talk and been drawing in between that, and only eaten a cake all day.

Nulpi and Ciara

Because Kerrigan constantly tell me to draw Nulpi and Ciara nearly every time I ask which one of my characters I should draw....so here, have some sketchy doodles of em' before I go to bed...Nulpi is quite the klutz for a guy. I feel sorry for Undine, his little lizard companion. Why she isn't dead is a mystery with all those derpy things this guy does. He should probably have some new glasses, I don't think those work anymore....
Ciara is just looking emo badass as usual :E

Sep 7, 2011

dun dun~chibi

I'm finally done with my friend's commission~
It took me forever, but it was sort of fun at the same time.
I have figured that I kind of like this way of coloring, think it might end up using it more or less permanently.

On another note I've figured I need to start sketching my OC's a bit more. Kerrigan keeps telling me to draw Ciara and Nulpi. Thinking I should maybe re-design his clothing...

~Off to doodling some chibis and commissions.

Sep 6, 2011

yay me

I decided that I need to re-organize the entire hard drive.
Why?
The current system isn't sorted by years, but category.

Sea of paper

I've been stuffing drawing after drawing into plastic pockets so I can put them nicely in folders, I have soon finished off a box consisting of 100 plastic pockets. yay me for buying two of those!
But wait! There is something wrong!
The sea of papers in my room....
It's still there...

It never ends!!!
The more I put in plastic folders, the more is to be found laying around on the floor. I have been doing this since before 1pm today.
Augh. I need a break.
Or else I'm going to barf paper.

Like a printer.
