Chobits

Series: Chobits

My relation to the show:
This is one of my many "I'd rather read it", and is currently the only series where I have the complete collection of the manga. I fell in love with the thin delicate lines of the artwork on the pages and decided that I just didn't like it in color. So I never got past the first episode of the anime.

It is something I consider a classic. There is a love story but it is not something sappy with tonnes of sparkles and googly eyes. It is set in the future, but not in a way that makes it alien to anyone, rather than that it raises the question of how much people relies on computers. A sweet light-hearted story with a more serious undertone and a definite good re-read.

Mononoke

Series: Mononoke

My relation to the show:
My friend recommended it to me, but as many times before I ignored that. Later on I found I wanted to watch something different, coming across a list of anime categories this was listed as artsy fartsy - and I was not disappointed when I finally watched it.

The style of the show is simple and extremely demanding at the same time. It's like old japanese paintings. Big flats with single or gradient color, then nothing but patterns as far as the eye can see. Colors everywhere. Always changing.

I really do like the main character, Kusuriuri, I can't get over how happy he is and then I remember it's his face paint makes it look like he is always smiling. Which reflects how he is a bit of a tricky character.

Fan Art Gallore / Pink Supervisor

I have decided this year that I will try to do one full drawing each week, and to get me started I decided to make fanarts of my favourite shows, at least the cartoon ones.

Some of these shows are most likely way out of date for most people, but that's the way I tend to roll - I always seem to join the bandwagon long after it stopped.

Title: Pink Supervisor
Series: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
"This years new year resolutions have left me in despair!"

My relation to the show:
I have to blame my friend for getting me into this one. "Zetsuboshitaaaaaaa" (I am in despair) was somewhat of a catchphrase among us for a little while when we were all watching the series. It is one of the shows I never finished watching, nor did I ever finish reading the manga that it is adapted from even though the series is finished.

Then why is it even on the list?

Well, I can't get over the clever puns with the names of the characters for starters. I find it amusing how the author picks names that sound like names when written horizontal and personality descriptions when written vertical.

For the anime I quite enjoy that the style and/or colors changes all the time. It adds a very odd flavour to the show which would otherwise be very boring. The opening credits and endings do however make me question the sanity of the people working on the show sometimes....

Band boys

Me and my friends have made a little band with a buncha boys, Leo is mine, Sheep belongs to Kerri, Dog to Ai and Monkey (not in the pictures this time) to Milla.

*sigh* Leo you shouldn't fall asleep and start hugging your band member....

"Aww, aren't you two adorable"
"Sheep, I swear, if that picture comes online I will kill you!"
"zzz..."

Sass master Sheep.
Shush you. Your hair is fab.

Dramatic apperances

My friend seems to have a case of "one of my characters shows up whenever I doodle something" and of some reason I decided it was because he didn't feel loved any more.

And he is making a point to be angry about it. Because characters being sort of OOC seems to be a thing that I like to do. Except the part where he doesn't like Fuego.

Back to school again

Back in England again.

It's weird for me, because of some reason I have no feeling that it's the last year. I have no feeling of a person that is going to stop going to school at the end of this. It's the same thing that happens with me when I travel between home and here. I never have the sense I am going anywhere unless it's the very first time, I don't get the whole "Ahhh! I am going to go somewhere!" that most other people seem to get every time they go to a place far away.

It just strikes me as odd that my personality seems so distant from everything. I sort of know why that is I ended up like that, but taking a step back and looking at myself as a character it just seems very blank. Kind of like Haru from the anime Free!.
There are something that interests me, I am in a content happy sort of state while doing it and it does keep me going, but still I don't really know why it keeps me going, I'm really just doing it, and most of the reason it still is going at all is because of my friends encouraging me. If I am not enjoying it together with anyone I don't enjoy it the same way and it just kind of works on autopilot.

I just feel like a bland Haru sinking away to hide from the world in my bathtub most of the time.

Shingeki No ....

*epic sounding theme music here*
Started out doing some mindless doodling which then turned into Attack on titan Kerri and Fuego.
Fuego you look braver than usual....did the titan swallow your pencil while nomming up others?

chatterbox n pan

Another one of those "based on a roleplay" doodles of mine.
I'm pretty happy with Chogan, those squashed chipmunk cheeks are hard to draw of some reason. Hawk I'm not too happy with. I think his expression looks too stiff, but to be perfectly honest it fits his personality better than being super expressive and semi-goofy like I would prefer to draw it. Chogan on the other hand  is a lot of fun, he is a bit difficult for me not only to draw, but to Role Play. A spoiled rotten energetic chatterbox with near sub zero sense of the things and people surrounding him. Fun times.

A Peter Pan Fuego. Peter seems rather popular lately, most likely from the one running around in the Disney park in USA, people say he's really good being Peter.
That hand doesn't make as much sense as it did at 2am last night. I must have let it off like that since it is actually possible to keep that pose..just not very comfortable or logic XD

Tumblr

Because tumblr is is the place to be these days I decided to make an art blog in addition to my main one Fuego Philippe, where everything I post seems to drown in reblogs of really cool things that I didn't make.

The artsy fartsy one is Fuego's Sketchbook, where I will probably post a lot of the same things that I post here - except without the walls of rambling and text. The people of tumblr don't seem to have the attention span for that.

Dagons and nightmares

Newest characters, Ai's Yon-Li and my Elladan.

Very anime poster poses, though I still get the feeling something is a bit off with Yon-Li's arm, foreshortening is not my favourite thing to do, but I do it anyway. Because those times it goes right it looks really cool xD

Elladan is kind of giving me troubles as well, think the arm with the umbrella looks funny, but it looked just as dumb having it coming up from the bottom, so he's stuck with something funny looking. I should probably just go erase it and draw it holding it differently altogether.

I seem to enjoy drawing more and more fancy complicated clothes as time goes by. That is one thing I am thankful about I've dragged with me from Japanese cartoons, knowing things don't just have to be in a single color to be able to animate it. Of course it becomes more of a nightmare to deal with if you are not relying on getting away with five second still images like many Japanese cartoons have a tendency to do.

Decided to redo the arm before I colored the image. At least it doesn't look like it's oddly broken off in a completely impossible angle. Lazybutt cel shading for this one.
....will leave the shiny off Elladans coat next time, it looks too new when it's shiny like that.

Attack of the stupid faces

A couple of months back I did this stupid thing when pestering my friends in response to drawing on top of stupid anime screencaps which we sometimes do for giggles....

This seems to have spawned in the back of my head, and I have grown used to seeing this face as my icon in different places to the point where I find it hilarious to do this kind of face.

I should just go to bed.

RP doddelage

Role Play doodles again, the ones done in my sketchbook. Hawk and Fuego is still stuck in each other 's bodies, but now they have gotten Yasu involved as well. He seems to be the only person trying to act like an adult about it and be in charge of the situation. Poor thing.

Ai drew this adorable little sketch of Hawk and I couldn't keep my fingers off it, so I colored it. Can I please just take him with me home?

Dance Dance Flower

Figured I'd try some water color look alike effect in sai. Worked out better than last time. Colorful happy Yo because I am stuck listening to Japanese boybands with adorable music videos.

A rare sight

A little doodle from an RP with Ai.
Fuego and Hawk have changed bodies, Hawk is upset about Fuego going through his stuff. She reassures him that it's ok, she can't read his language in the first place, so she doesn't know what his book says. She gives him one of her adorable smiles.
But since it's a body switch it's Hawks face that gets an adorable smile pasted on it. Smiling Hawk. A rare sight to behold.

Oregami flower

Went through some older drawings today I found a doodle I had done of Blaise and Candy. I decided to draw another one since it's quite a cute pair of siblings. Also it's fun to draw Blaise all sappy and adorable.

After much cheesy humor and puns on our currently bad and broken Japanese I ended up scribbling down my thoughts on the whole "Norvegia desu" thing.

Lollipops and naptime

Kaimu, because someone mentioned they liked him, also I don't really draw my wannabe emo sweet tooth enough. Kinda been playing around with anime style since the picture I did of Jain. It's good fun, I am forcing myself little by little to actually do something decent, and I seem to scrap the idea of a fully rendered sketch, I just draw on top of some basic shape of what I want the pose to be like.

I like how the body came out, but of some reason I don' really like his face. I'll do that better next time around. It's probably the way i drew his eyes, they just look weird to me because it's not really my style.

Pluchie Fuego with sleeping Ash puppy. Because it's naptime and sleep is good for you. <3 br="">

Too sexy for my shirt

Internet at my place died last night, so I didn't get to post my errr...daily doodle thing....
I have no idea what happened to my style (it's probably because I kept drawing over screencaps to pester my friend) and why Jain seems to be my preferred victim of late when it comes to my friends characters. So fab.

Baw buds and otome filter

Sometimes school just get annoying and needs to be vented about.

Also me and Ai figured if we met our favourite actors...we would fall into the depths of the otome filter....complete with sparkles of the kawaii goodness that is the glorious gateway to the flaoting pink backgrounds where all men hold roses and call you princess.

Shojo night magic sparkle

Magical starry sparkletastic shojo boy in girly pose.
I was going to draw buff men today. Where did this come from?
